RT I-80, Eastbound and Westbound Bridge Deck Replacement over Berkshire Valley Road

Project Highlights: This project is a “Federal Stimulus Project” funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and consists of installing a temporary bridge structure in the median of Rt. 80 between the eastbound and westbound lanes to divert traffic while each of the Rt. 80 structures are replaced. The major components of the project includes: erection of a 2-span, 3-lane 220 linear foot temporary steel trussed bridge, demolition of the eastbound and westbound bridge decks, 3,500 square feet of concrete girder and floor beam spall repair, 5,000 square feet of concrete substructure repair, placement of approximately 210,000 pounds of epoxy-coated reinforced steel and placement of 675 cubic yards of high performance concrete bridge deck. Other work includes construction of a temporary roadway leading to the temporary structure.
